What does Micah 7:7 mean?

Three verbs, escalating in cost: look, wait, and then the flat assertion that he will be heard. 'Therefore' is the difficult word — the waiting is a conclusion drawn from the collapse, not a refuge from it. And the possessive shifts: 'the LORD' becomes 'my God' by the end of one sentence, which is the whole movement of the verse.

What is the context of Micah 7:7?

Micah 7 opens with the prophet comparing himself to someone searching a stripped orchard for one fig. He describes a society where neighbours cannot be trusted and a man's enemies are his own household. Verse 7 begins with 'therefore' — because of all that.
