What does Exodus 15:26 mean?

The healing named here is first of all a healing of water, then of a nation's future. The conditional half is specific — freedom from 'these diseases', the plagues of Egypt — rather than a blanket promise of health, and reading it as the latter has caused real harm to sick believers. The name at the end is unconditional and stands on its own: not what God does if, but what God is.

What is the context of Exodus 15:26?

Three days out of Egypt the people find water at Marah and cannot drink it. Moses is shown a tree to throw in and it becomes sweet. The name is given immediately after, alongside a statute and an ordinance.
