Romans 6
Romans 6 explains that grace does not license sin — believers have died to sin and risen to new life with Christ, and the chapter ends with the gospel in miniature: the wages of sin versus the gift of God.

Where this chapter sits
The question that closes the previous chapter, whether more sin means more grace, gets its direct answer here: certainly not. Paul's first argument runs through the imagery of baptism into Christ's death and resurrection, uniting the believer's story to his own. A second argument, starting partway through, switches images entirely, describing the believer as a slave who has changed masters, from sin to obedience. Both arguments push against the same wrong conclusion from different directions.
